For the best use of energy and heat, a block heater should be plugged in for no more than 50 minutes. This is because anything over 50 minutes is simply lost to the outside air.It is important to note that a block heater is not designed to heat the interior of a vehicle, only the engine block. Heating up the engine block on a cold morning prevents cold starts, a condition that causes an engine to work twice as hard just to turn over because of the lower temperature. A block heater will also increase the life of the engine provided all other maintenance is taken care of. Since the block heater's only job is to heat the engine block, it should not be started overnight. It is better to use a timer and set it to start 30-50 minutes before it's needed so energy and heat are not wasted.

Ablock heater's purpose is to keep the engine coolant warm while the vehicle is not in use. This is required in places where the weather drops to freezing temperatures. It helps prevent the coolant from expanding as it normally would when the weather is cold. This is especially useful, because the coolant expands in viscosity and can cause some of the hoses to become clogged, resulting in eventual engine failure.

One of the more basic tips is to wait for warmer weather, or complete the job inside of a garage. The warmer the weather, the thinner the coolant is and easier it is to drain it from the radiator.

Be sure to use gloves when handling coolant. If the coolant happens to be too hot, it can cause chemical burns, according to the US Department of Health.

Also, become familiar with the layout of the engine. A block heater is installed into one of the freeze plugs ports on the bottom-end. This location changes, depending on the type of engine. It also helps in knowing how to run the power cables for the heater block.

What Can You Do When New Controller Appeared 04 and 019

First appeared 04, then appeared 019:

1. 04 is a low temperature warning. First please check the entire oil path of heater whether in which parts of the oil leaking. For example, Oil pump, tubing, diesel filter and other oil pipe connections,  check whether there is oil leakage.
2. If the oil path is normal, please check the combustion chamber and the turbine. When the heater does not completely stop working then you directly cut off the power, the heater without cooling, the combustion chamber will be burnt, the turbine at high temperature deformation.
3. If there is no direct disconnection of power, check whether the temperature of aluminum shell is normal, because when it is warm or hot, the heater does not work properly.
4. If step 1.2.3.have not occurred, long press the power button for 5 seconds, the oil discharge machine then shut down after the completion of the re-start testing.
5. If the fourth step still can not make the heater, check the sensor.
6. Still still appear 019, may be the oil pump out of the oil is too much, please contact the manufacturer.

Diesel engine also produces less carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon. With the development of technology, the emission has reached EU-III and EU-IV standard.

With more reliability than gasoline engine, diesel engine doesn’t need a ignition system and it has a simpler fuel-supply system, too. It’s not easy for diesel cars to stall. With compression ignition principle, diesel car won’t consume much energy, but it can produce high thermal efficiency.

Diesel engine has longer service life, and the parts are not easy to age.
